I really cannot add to Nightmare's review. The game flows extremely well and combat is outstanding. The stats need more explanation than are offered in the tutorial/manual but that's my only complaint so far (3 hours in).
I came to this game as a fan of RTS and SRPG games not war sims. The combat is very satisfying in a real time Fire Emblem (attack>magic>defense) sort of way and can get very hectic at times. I have also enjoyed the diplomatic aspect more than anticipated. This adds some realism to the experience. Overall I would rank this 8/10.
Edit: I have completed the game 3 times using different strategies. If you are completionist, this game is your nightmare (easily 400+ hours for 100%). I am still a huge fan of the game but some weakness begins to show after multiple playthroughs. The main one I have found is the difficulty. There are no real challenges after you gain a strong foothold and resources are too easily acquired.Get more detail about Spectral Force Genesis.
