Buying The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

What can really be said about the Zelda series that hasn't been set before? Every single new addition to the series manages to be highly unique while still retaining all the classic elements that fans know and love; it's a claim that few series this long-running can make.

Spirit Tracks retains the overall format of its truly amazing predecessor, "Phantom Hourglass," but this time utilizes a train as your primary mode of transportation. It feels extremely tedious and limiting at first, but as the world opens up around you with your various achievements, it becomes much more involving and fun. There's an awful lot to do in this game, with tons of side quests that keep you occupied in between major objectives. This has the effect of making you feel like you're constantly achieving things, which keeps you up playing a lot more late nights than you will expect!

As with "Phantom Hourglass," the touch-screen controls are spot-on and highly intuitive, making game play just the breeze it should be. The story manages to be engaging, the goals to achieve and the enemies to defeat are all among the most unique to yet be seen in a Zelda title, and the puzzles are satisfying to solve. Also like its predecessor, this game utilizes every capability of the DS in fun and rewarding ways, making for a title that could only exist on the DS, another great reason to own it.

This game DOES fix the tedious and frustrating repetiton that plagued "Phantom Hourglass" when it forced you to revisit the same temple multiple times. The only downside is that the primary temple in THIS game becomes so difficult for your final visit that it's nearly enough to turn you off from playing the game, which should never happen. But everything leading up to that is a real blast, and I highly recommend the game to anybody who's ever loved a Zelda game or needs to discover the series; it's hard to imagine a soul not finding entertainment in this one!Get more detail about The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.
